When you care about what’s inside the can, you should care about what it’s packaged in.
At Chilly Water, aluminum wasn’t a branding decision. It was the most responsible choice for protecting clean water and reducing long-term waste.
Plastic bottles are everywhere because they’re cheap and convenient, not because they’re better — over time they break down, leach chemicals, and shed microplastics that end up in places they don’t belong.
Aluminum doesn’t.
It protects the water, keeps it colder longer, and can be recycled again and again without losing quality. When it came time to choose packaging, aluminum was the clear answer.
Aluminum cans, made from naturally occurring aluminum sourced from the earth, create a sealed barrier that protects water from light and outside contamination, preserving freshness and the clean taste people notice right away.
Unlike plastic, aluminum doesn’t interact with the water over time — what goes into the can stays exactly how it’s meant to be.
Plastic bottles are typically recycled once, if at all. Many end up in landfills, waterways, or break down into microplastics that never fully disappear.
Every can of Chilly Water helps replace a plastic bottle that would have stayed in the environment for 450 years.
Chilly Water is sourced, filtered, and canned on our own property in Kinston, North Carolina. Keeping everything in-house reduces transportation, limits waste, and gives us full control over quality from start to finish.
Plastic was never designed to be reused endlessly. It degrades over time, absorbs heat, and can leach microplastics into something as simple and essential as drinking water.
We believe clean water deserves better than disposable packaging that sticks around for over 400 years, long after its single use is done.
For restaurants, gyms, events, and everyday life, aluminum just works.
Choosing cans doesn’t require changing habits. You still grab a cold drink. You still hydrate the same way. The difference is what happens after.
That’s the kind of change we believe in
